It is for those who want to spend a day or more in the mountains for the simple pleasure of nature – it is dedicated to beginners, those who love tranquility, those who have free time and want to try different itineraries, off the usual routes.
The guide contains three routes

It describes a simple walk in the green to discover flowers and plants (and also small curiosities), with pleasant, well-marked stops.
2. Between pastures and blueberries
An easy and panoramic excursion with a gentle ups and downs among the meadows of the Zoncolan, where cows bivouac and small fruits abound.
3. Over our heads
An excursion within everyone’s reach that will allow you to conquer your (perhaps) first peak, discovering that doing so is a great feat … within everyone’s reach!
Tamai Refuge is a unique place that once you arrive you don't want to leave
We wrote the guide “Easy mountain walks” because we know our territory like the back of our hands: we were born there, we spend every summer (and every winter) there, we love to walk slowly and discover that beautiful places can also be very close and – as if that weren’t enough – we have a child who has tested all the advice of the guide (and who, even if he does not speak much yet, ensures that they are easy).
At the Tamai Refuge you can stop for a short or long stop: in any case you can enjoy the sunny basin in which it stands, take a nap on our deckchairs while the children play near you or take a dip in our small swimming pool.
At the Tamai Refuge restaurant you can taste mountain dishes with herbs from our meadows, collected by us in the months of closure. At the kiosk – on sunny days – you can order your picnic basket and choose your favorite spot among the many that our meadows host, you will recognize them by the fresh “centreplate” flowers.
We leave you to our nice – but punctual – guide so you can already imagine yourself with us and start walking our favorite trails.
Inside the guide you will find
⊛ duration of the three courses
⊛ precise descriptions
⊛ photographs
⊛ level of difficulty (in which we indicate whether it is suitable for children and at what age)
⊛ necessary equipment
⊛ advice on where to sleep and what to do
We reached the refuge using the cable car and a short walk of about 1 km. The view is wonderful as well as the area outside the refuge where we found 3 fantastic alpacas, a swimming pool and deck chairs to relax. With about € 60 we ate a platter of cold cuts in two, a plate of pennoni with tomato and ricotta in two, a frico and ribs with polenta, a strudel in two. 3 glasses of Friulano di Spessa, half a liter of red wine, water and coffee. All exquisite. While we ate we enjoyed the passage of a group of wonderful cows.

Strategic position: Easily accessible by car or motorbike (or bike) both from Sutrio and Ovaro. Also possibility to reach 900 meters with the cable car. Parking at 350 meters or even in front of the refuge.
The refuge is welcoming and cared for even in the details. It offers an outdoor hut, swimming pool, deck chairs, umbrellas ... outdoor and indoor tables. Quick and courteous service. Varied menu and excellent food. For the little ones (but not only) in front of the refuge there are some nice Alpacas.
From the refuge it is possible to walk towards many paths.

Never seen such a refuge. A corner of paradise that tastes like home.
A unique and incredibly beautiful house.
